Howdy. Really enjoying your post-game interpretation and continuity of events. Looking forward to your updating and the possible reunion of Shep and Blue.
Just wanted to point out the niggling anatomical fail on this page. It doesn't detract from the overall art style or the intended emotional impact but in frame three Shepard's left arm is... dislocated. Her elbow joint, or more likely, shoulder joint needs to be taken into consideration for a more accurate portrayal of a tender caress... unless Cerberus'alterations went as far as Go-Go Gadget arms.
I would suggest perhaps re-aligning the errant limb. Or relocating it inside of Liara's hold, as in the previous page Shepard was touching Liara first, and to me it seems more logical that Liara's arm would have moved to an outer position in their hold than an inner as she was the last to act.
Anywho, just a minor niggle I put way to much thought into, but the more I look at it the more it stands out, and nobody else has seemed to notice, or at least comment.
Looking forward to your updates and the conclusion of your tale (with all anatomy intact, I hope!).
Yeah, it didn't look so off when I was drawing it, but then I cut it to fit, and now it does look really weird, but I probably wont be going back to fix it at this point. Maybe way down the line if I ever actually finish the comic, I will go back and fix things. (There's a lot of little things scattered about that bother me) Thanks for the feed back though.
Wow, while reading this my mind was subconsciously playing the romance song. The sad piano one. That's how good you got the emotions. The art direction isn't half bad either(or any bad for that matter) What can I say, you nailed it. Can't help but want more.
I just caught on to this now. I clicked on Page 10 without realising this comic is still in progress! Woe!
I like what I see. It's simple and elegant. A bare bones sort of story that gives us the framework to interpret our shared Shepards into, and it communicates it well through the characters. That said, I am overjoyed that it was a Femshep choice, and Liara as a love interest as these mirror my choices/primary playthrough as well.
I wanted to say thanks for doing all of this. It's been a real treat to see nine pages all at once, and invested me enough to check back for updates later. If you don't mind a question? Why default Femshep? Was that what you used in your game or was it an artistic decision?
The decision to use the default femshep was more to do with the fact that, when I personally read a comic or fanfiction and see a custom Shepard... it doesn't feel like Shepard to me. It usually just feels like someone is trying to write themselves into a story and while I realize that Shepard is who the player makes him/her, I still feel like Shepard does have a defined personality in the games and when people start making Shepard into themselves, I feel like they become unrecognizable as the Commander we spend 3 games playing as. I wanted to make a Shepard, where when people look at him/her, they see Shepard. I figured the best way to do that is use either Sheploo or Femshep, but I personally prefer Femshep.
All that being said, my first playthrough I did have custom Femshep simply because I felt like the default femshep in the first too games didn't look like a serious character who could actually save a galaxy, though I think the new one looks like she could kick some serious ass if she wanted to.
Anyway, I really hope you continue to enjoy the comic and thank you for the support!
Lucky you! Mine insists I watch mind-numbing tv with her but then she does take me to the comic shop every month and buys me graphic novels so I can't complain She says she's not a nerd but she is really , everyone is nerdy about something otherwise they're bland boring people.
Mine occasionally gets me to watch things like Glee or Doctor Who with her, and once tried to get me to watch Honey Boo Boo with her, THAT didn't happen. And yes. Completely agreed. You have to have something to nerd about! (specially because it makes buying presents so much easier)
Hahaha, Dr Who isn't so bad but Glee...hmmm haven't watched it for a while but when I did it was for Jane Lynch and the subtext (I blame Fanfiction hehehe).
Arrrrgghhhh , just looked up Honey Boo Boo...what fresh horror is this! Thankfully we do not have this in the UK but if we did my GF would probably be watching it . Well done for avoiding it, I'm sure your brain cells thank you.
heh, yeah I can deal with Doctor Who, my only thing is I never have any idea what's going on... but Glee... I can't do it. All the characters piss me off.
and yes... Honey Boo Boo... As soon as I saw the opening I knew I needed to get out... and now just to annoy me my gf will quote the show and just say "You better redneckonize!" and I want to slap her.
The first picture is really nice, there is just something moving and poignantly intense in that gaze of theirs. The second picture just has something that feels so romantic between them, it is such a simple gesture and even so the tender affection just seem to emanate from it. I love the final picture, I get chills down my spine when wathicng them kiss, teh way that their that their lips meet and their eyes are closed to enjoy each other, just breathtakingly wonderful
haha yeah... well the way I see it is they're bitching and trying to pick a fight on the INTERNET... about a FICTIONAL character from a VIDEO GAME... and then claims any one who disagrees has never been laid... *cough* yeah... I'll just let that sink in a minute...
It honestly just makes me laugh. People are entitled to their opinions but man, some people need to step into the real world every now and then and take a deep breath and clear their heads
